COMING SOON Shadow Wars, the Shadow News site game, isn't live yet. These pages explain how it will work.

Shadow Wars is a free game on shadownewshq.com. You collect, hold and battle over Shadow News posts using points you earn on this site.

The basics

Points come only from things you do on this site: visiting, liking posts here, spinning the wheel, achievements and events.
Points and items have no cash value. You can't buy them with money and you can't cash them out.
One account per person. Log in with your own X account.
Be decent. No harassment, hate or spam anywhere in the game.

Fair Play & X

Shadow News posts live on X, so the game has to play fair with X's rules too. Here's how we keep it clean:

We never reward X activity. You get zero points for liking, reposting, replying to, quoting or following anything on X. Nothing in the game checks whether you did.
No begging for engagement. If you own a post, don't ask anyone (on X, here or anywhere) to like, repost, reply to or view it. That includes "like my post to help me win". You can report it, and it gets penalized.
No alts, bots or farming. One account per person. No second accounts, scripts, bots, or using several devices or networks to farm points or feed yourself posts.
"View on X" is just a link. Every post keeps a plain "View on X" link so you can see the original. Clicking it earns nothing.

X Rating, frozen

Each post gets an X Rating from 0 to 100 based on how it did on X: views, likes and reposts. The rating freezes 24 hours after the post goes up and never changes after that. So once it's frozen, extra X activity does nothing for the game, and there's no reason for anyone to push engagement on X.

Formula: score = views ÷ 100 + likes × 2 + reposts × 4, then scaled to 0–100 on a log curve (a score of 500 or more = 100).

Rarity

When a rating freezes, the post gets a rarity tier compared with the last 30 days of posts:

LEGENDARY top 3%
EPIC top 15%
RARE top 50%
COMMON everything else
MYTHIC reserved for special moments, never handed out automatically

After that, a post's in-game value only grows from activity here on the site.

Reports & penalties

Report anything that breaks these rules. We review reports, and penalties step up:

Warning.
Losing points or posts gained from the abuse.
Season ban, and for serious or repeat cases, a permanent ban.

We can roll back points, posts or results that came from cheating or bugs.

Is this allowed on X?

Can I like or repost Shadow News posts on X?: Of course, like anyone can. It just doesn't affect the game. You get no points for it and it doesn't change frozen ratings.
Can I share a post I own?: You can share a link and say you own it. Don't ask people to like, repost or engage with it.
Can I tell friends about Shadow Wars?: Yes. Invite them to play on the site. Just don't trade likes, follows or reposts on X for anything in the game.
Can I run a second account to help my main?: No. One account per person. Alts get removed, and the main account gets penalized.
Does Shadow Wars post on X for me?: No. Log in with X will be read-only. We can't post, like, follow or message for you.

Rules version 2026-10-21. We may update these rules, and we'll say so on the site when we do.
