Claude just out-designed the best published quantum circuits.

In an Anthropic study with Harvard and QuEra researchers, Claude Mythos 5 worked in a loop with an automated grader and found cheaper designs than the best published circuits in seven of eight tasks. One design, from a 53-hour solo run, needs about 17x fewer gates than the smallest previous version while using 12% more qubits. Anthropic says savings like this could bring useful quantum computers sooner.
