A 30-year-old director just won a major animation prize in Spain.

Kōhei Kadowaki's We Are Aliens won Best Animated Feature in the Anima't section of the Sitges Film Festival. It's the first Japanese film to win since Seven Days War, joining past winners like Makoto Shinkai's your name. and Mamoru Hosoda's Mirai, and Kadowaki is the youngest Japanese director to take it. The film already won the Grand Prize at the Ottawa International Animation Festival in September.
